The West Bank's health system faces imminent collapse driven by financial strain and movement restrictions rather than direct military attacks, according to Dr. Zaher Sahloul, head of MedGlobal, a US-based medical aid organization. Speaking Thursday in Bethlehem, the Palestine News Network reported, Sahloul described conditions approaching those in Gaza despite the absence of airstrikes.
The deterioration stems from administrative and logistical constraints that undermine the system's capacity to function, he said. Palestinian health authorities have struggled to maintain services amid deepening economic pressure and curbs on the movement of people and resources.
